We are looking for a Procurement Manager for Equipment for one of our main customers: a global player in the field of renewable energies, which develops, designs, builds, and manages plants that generate clean energy. Moreover, they provide highly specialized energy management and downstream services to both energy producers and consumers and use their know-how to manage third-party assets from a technical and operational perspective.

Position Summary:

  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for a wide variety of duties, technical, commercial, and administrative, to coordinate the activities related to procurement for major equipment for Global projects, executing certain procurement activities in accordance with purchasing procedures, which requires a competitive procurement process to be held.
  • He/she will support to prepare bid packages by accumulating documents from internal stakeholders and preparing instructions to bidders.
  • He/she will support managing the bidding processes, coordinating internal reviews with the different departments, and coordinating the responses with the bidders.
  • He/she will assist the Global Director Procurement with communication with internal and external Suppliers, the creation Purchase Orders and the coordination of other Supply Chain Management / Logistic activities

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the procurement of major equipment (MV stations (Inverters, Transformers…), BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), HV MPT Transformers and Trackers/Racking for solar projects.
  • Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) packages for the equipment selection process
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Confers with engineers, managers, customers, and others to discuss the project, manage review of technical and commercial proposals and documents
  • Coordinate internal reviews of the proposals with the different departments during the bidding process and coordinating the responses to the bidders
  • Review and summarize bid packages received from suppliers for internal selection process, and make a supplier recommendation
  • Work with project team to create purchase order and delivery schedule which consistent with project pipeline forecast.
  • Communicate with internal team members to:
  • Create purchase orders 
  • Schedule and manage the delivery of modules to project sites 
  • Determine transfer pricing and volume scheduling
  • Communicate the procurement forecast to suppliers
  • Coordinate the PR process with project team
  • Issue PO to suppliers
  • Obtain and maintain records on product specifications, prices, and delivery status
  • Communicate and coordinate procurement documents with the accounting department and projects department
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment with accounting.
  • Track vendor performance on delivery, quality, and service
  • Analyze procurement problems and take appropriate action to efficiently resolve issues, which may include any aspect of field support, Maintain good business and productive working relationships with both suppliers and internal departments
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Solution Code of Business Conduct,
  • Perform other functions as required,
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations,
  • Required to work in an ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years related experience in a Procurement role, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Solar industry preferred,
  • Fluent in English and Spanish. Mandarin is a bonus.
  • Self-starter with excellent computer skills, a team player attitude.
  • Work with project team to create purchase order and delivery schedule which consistent with project pipeline forecast.
