We are looking for a Global Technician Product Manager for one of our customers: a global player in the field of renewable energies, which develops, designs, builds, and manages plants that generate clean energy. Moreover, they provide highly specialized energy management and downstream services to both energy producers and consumers and use their know-how to manage third-party assets from a technical and operational perspective.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Global Product Manager specialist in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for Utility scale projects, as well as Power Conversion Systems (PCS), including Inverters + MV Stations, to join our customer Global Procurement team. This position will make use of knowledge and skillsets of solar/battery PCS and BESS experience to provide product management products and Services, including but not limited to Technical Due Diligence (TDD), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and factory audit, Quality Claims (NCR) and RFP technical revisions. 

This Position will assist the global Procurement Director to implement the global Procurement strategy, with communication with Suppliers and internally with regional teams and headquarter personnel abroad to assist with needs and support.

Responsibilities:

    • Perform Technical Due Dilligence (TDD) of the equipment as part of the Suppliers validation process
    • Participate Manage the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and factory audit if required.
    • Review and periodically update technical product specifications for bid packages.
    • Assist Procurement and Engineering team in technical review of the proposals submitted by Suppliers during the bidding processes.
    • Follow up NCR related to the products under the roll scope with Quality Department, providing technical support to RCA and remediation plan if needed.
    • Understand product manufacturing processes, certification status and other product details.
    • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including international travel.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

 

Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline (preferable Electrical/Electronics) is required; a graduate degree is strongly preferred.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in product management, in the energy sector or within the PV industry. 
  • Experience in the required products and Energy industry (PV and Storage). 
  • Experience in Medium Voltage Stations Solutions and Inverters, Central and String technology, and stationary BESS. 
  • Additional experience in PV/Energy Storage project or PV/Energy Storage system design is a plus.
  • Fluent in English. Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Power Electronics, MV equipment (transformers and RMU) Inverters and Energy Storage based on Battery technologies.
  • Able to perform project simulation as needed in PVSys
  • Excellent technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn detailed information about the existing product portfolio and to communicate and answer technical and product related questions and topics.
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with others effectively, locally and also over multiple time zones and different cultures.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic planning and implementation skills.

  • Work will be in various locations, normally performed in a standard office environment, in front of a computer monitor and will involve sitting, bending, standing, walking, typing, reaching, but also including in factory floor, warehouse and project site when necessary to perform technical visits.
