Is money your only motivation to change jobs?

We have recently carried out a selection process for one of our clients, a leading renewable energy company. Being a very specific profile, there are really few candidates who meet all the desired requirements.

When this situation arises, in Grow Talent Solutions, we perform Executive Search or Direct Search. Thanks to this type of contact, we have been able to identify really valid candidates. Most of them were in the same company as this company specialized in that niche. After interviewing some whose experience did fit the profile, it struck us that the vast majority were not willing to change jobs, even if the economic conditions offered were better. Invariably the argument was: “In my current company I have many possibilities for professional development and the work environment is unbeatable so, at the moment, I am not willing to change“.

This shows us that money is not everything when it comes to valuing a professional change: a positive work environment, interesting professional challenges, good leaders, interpersonal relationships based on trust, etc., are very important factors that can make a difference when it comes to retaining talent.

What do you think of this? How is talent retained in your company?

For you, what is the most important thing when considering a professional change?
